With three stops down, all eyes are now firmly focused on the fourth stop of the tour and the lawns at the famous South African landmark are abuzz with building equipment piling tons of rich soil into place to build the biggest track of the season. Around 400 truckloads of dirt will be put in place by event day.
Frenchman Tom Pagès pulled out all the stops in a killer run in Madrid, which included his now signature ‘Bike Flip’, and there’s no doubt he’ll be looking to repeat the feat in Pretoria:
“Last year I didn’t have the best run in Pretoria and I really want to come back and give the fans what they want to see and win there. The track there is big and it’s going to be good,” said Pagès.
Pagès is currently in second place in the World Tour standings, just 20 points behind current leader Clinton Moore (Australia). Levi Sherwood (New Zealand) is hot on their heels in third.
