5FM Music has partnered with MiTracks and will enable listeners to download music that is currently playlisted on the station. With the simple click of a button, listeners will have a vast selection of tracks available at their fingertips.

The platform is accessed via www.5fm.co.za by clicking on the 5FM Music button and following the simple directions to purchasing the tracks you like. This is a multi-functional music download service, built for Android, compatible with iOS, tablets as well as in browsers.

Purchases can be made using a variety of payment methods which include buying a MiTracks Music voucher in-store which is available at all Shoprite and Checkers stores nationwide in denominations of R20 and R50 as well as all 400 PEPCell Stores. Purchases can also be made by credit and cheque card and EFT. The gifting functionality allows users to gift tracks, albums or credits to friends.

“If you hear a song you like and want, you don’t need to wait and find out what the track is and then go and purchase it – this application identifies the song playing right now and directs you to where to purchase it in one step,” says 5FM station manager Justine Cullinan. She goes on to explain that this platform offers the 5FM community immediate gratification while listening to the station. “It’s another way the brand is expanding its accessibility within the music industry in an attempt to always offer more value to the 5FM community.”

5FM Music launches on Tuesday, 20 October in collaboration with SABC Radio as well as major and independent record labels.
