A string of entertainment and sports personalities will lead the celebrity line-up for East Coast Radio’s Toy Story with Game Corporate Day Challenge on Friday, 20 November.
East Coast Radio will stage a marathon 12 hour live broadcast and telethon from the Pavilion Shopping Centre, to raise funds for its annual CSI initiative aimed at ill and disadvantaged children in KwaZulu-Natal.
Hip hop star, AKA; Masterchef SA season 3 winner, Roxi Wardman; actor, Thato Molamu; TV personality, Patricia Lewis; musicians Lloyd Cele, Gangs of Ballet, Veranda Panda, Kyle Deutsch and Sketchy Bongo; sports stars from The Sharks and Amazulu; and eThekwini Mayor, James Nxumalo, will all be joining the Corporate Day Challenge, helping to answer the pledge lines.
East Coast Radio’s Toy Story with Game is a long-standing, province-wide outreach campaign aimed at providing new toys to every child in a KZN government hospital, crèche and children’s home. It also provides child-headed homes across the province with food parcels. Each parcel is valued at R350 and can feed a family of four people for up to six weeks. For many of the children, the food parcels are the only source of nutrition over the long end-of-year school break. Every cent raised during the Corporate Day Challenge will be used to buy food parcels.
Businesses and individuals will have the chance to make pledges and challenges and have their details mentioned on-air. The pledge line number is 031 265 0234 and will be operational from 06:00 to 18:00.
