Also joining Tlale at the BET Experience Africa will be designers Martelle Ludek, Thebe Magugu and Nthabiseng Molefe. They join previously announced designers NN Vintage (new label of Mafikizolo lead vocalist Nhlanhla Nciza), Loin Cloth & Ashes, Tuelo Nguyuza Collectiv, KL Tsotetsi and Rich Mnisi showcasing South African design and creativity on the catwalk at the festival.

Tlale has been feted around the world thanks to a stellar career spanning more than a decade of style, elegance, opulence and magnificence. Having etched his mark as a favourite on the South African and African fashion landscapes, Tlale is renowned for his undeniable knack for showmanship and elaborate designs that employ unpredictable fabrics, colours and textures.

In 2009, he was awarded Fashion Designer of the Year at the Africa Fashion Awards in Johannesburg, and later made his debut at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week with a collection entitled Cultural Intimacy. In early 2011, Tlale presented his quintessential Made In The City Collection in celebration of the 92 years of Nelson Mandela’s life, sending 92 models down the longest ramp in the history of South African fashion: the Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg.

In 2012, Tlale was the first South African fashion designer to showcase solo at the New York Fashion Week - a tradition he continues to the present day.
