Every brand wants to be the best, but there can only be
one winner. So, what do you need to do to get to the top?
Well, firstly you need to
understand how to measure the
effectiveness of your PR campaigns so that your efforts are not just a
splat on a page.
To
ensure you are on the right track, you need to:
- evaluate the social media mentions your campaign receives
- measure the amount of website traffic a certain campaign generates
- create surveys to see what your audience knows about your product so that you plan your campaigns accordingly, and
- monitor the number of media impressions like press releases your brand has accumulated.

1. Dove's '#TheSelfieTalk' campaign
It's
no secret that
social media has a huge effect on how women, (and especially teenagers) portray themselves. With filters, influencers and a general consensus on how
the perfect woman must look, the media has influenced women to
want to change how they look.
Dove took a stand against the
false self-perception that the media creates by launching its 'Have #TheSelfieTalk' campaign. The campaign features a girl that is busy taking a selfie and editing her face according to what society tells her she
needs to look like.
The video ends with her
natural face where you can see the difference between society's influence and a teenager confused about who she is in a world of fakeness.
C’mon society — let's correct that false perception!

2. CPB London's 'Imagine' campaign
CPB London (Crispin Porter + Bogusky London) is a creative agency dedicated to telling the truth in the
most unexpected way. For International Women's Day, it took a stand against
biased gender roles.
For many, this may be a
picky subject, but this campaign did
not hold back. The agency made bold statements to show the public that gender assumptions or generalisations are
not okay!Being bold and saying something as is
always grabs attention because it is a sign of
authenticity and transparency — something that the world is in
dire need off.

3. Lego's 'Rebuild the world' campaign
Nothing is impossible — this is the feeling that
Lego's new campaign is trying to teach its audience.
We live in a
broken world, where i
njustice and hurt are not something new. But with this advert, the sense of
rebuilding your life one block at a time provides a sense of
hope that many needs.
When the angle of your campaign is something
light-hearted and hopeful, you win over your viewer's need for equality in life. Lego places this advert in such a light that it promotes the brand's
"blocks" but also focuses on the 'block of life' and how restoring hope is a step-by-step process.

4. Denmark's 'Rising Benches For Rising Sea Levels' campaign
Well, whether you like it or not,
global warming and overall environmental awareness are things that
need to be addressed.
Denmark took a stand against the
rising sea levels and implemented high rising benches of one meter in its country. These one-meter benches represent the height at which is predicted the sea level will rise by the end of the century.
Shocking!This is a
wake-up call for other countries to see that we
all need to take action to preserve our future.
5. McDonald's 'We Hire People' campaign
Yes, we all love a
chicken nugget, but what we love
more is
McDonald's attitude towards its future employees. It doesn't seek perfection — the brand wants
normal people to become part of the franchise.
This advert showcases numerous different people — varying from hair colour to gender — all just being themselves. When asked who would they rather hire — the brand's answer is "
people … normal people".
Yes, you d
on't have to fit in a certain box, you can just be yourself. This advert connects to other campaigns that fight for human rights, woman empowerment and overall humanity.
Everyone has the right to be
who they want to be, and Mcdonald's wants
you to!
