The incoming CEO of Lalibela Game Reserve Johann Lombard has announced that Scout PR & Social Media has been appointed to handle both PR and social media for the reserve. The appointment was made in November 2023.
"Beyond its exceptional tourist focus, Lalibela's primary mission is the conservation of the indigenous flora and fauna, with all profits generated on the reserve allocated to the conservation of the land, animals and wider community," says the reserve.
Located in a unique multi-biomed area of the Eastern Cape in South Africa, it is a conservation project that doubles as a tourism business. According to the reserve, Lalibela Game Reserve's 10 500 hectares are home to:
- The Big Five
- herds of plains game
- predators including cheetah, hyena, jackal and lynx, and
- birdlife.
The reserve also has six luxury accommodation offerings for guests.
"We are honoured to work with a brand that prioritises conservation and community at every turn," says Scout's director Lauren Shantall. "As an animal lover and an enthusiast of the African bushveld, to have the opportunity to broadcast Lalibela's fantastic work and tourism offering is ideal."
Scout says that it has already begun promoting a series of exciting news from Lalibela to both local and international media, including:
- the arrival of four cheetah cubs
- the appointment of Lombard as CEO
- the reopening of Inzolo Lodge, and
- a profile on Lalibela's community outreach programme liaison officer.
Scout concludes that it is also creating Lalibela's social media content.
