Reactive PR is a bit misleading in its title. The fact is that PR, whether reactive or proactive, takes hours upon hours of planning and strategising to ensure success. This infographic serves as your checklist to help you be proactive about your reactive PR.
PR stands for "Proactively Reactive," right? I'm just kidding … but also not really.
Public Relations is a field that requires constant planning, execution and planning again to do it better the next time.
Reactive PR, however, includes an element of surprise, making it more difficult to execute.
The term itself is almost contradictory. Even if it requires PR pros to wait for an issue or crisis to arise before they can respond — it doesn't exempt them from preparing for when the crisis does arise. Their preparations simply differ from those of the proactive PR gang.
