The Clover Mama Afrika project's latest mosaic course brought a chance to bring light into the Mama Afrikas' homes, says the project.

Each Mama Afrika received a wooden mould for a bed or lounge lamp, ready to be adorned with tiles in their favourite hues. Under the expert guidance of Marina Ehlers from Mosaic Arts, these wooden moulds were transformed into stunning mosaic lamps, says the organisation.

Each Mama Afrika left with a lamp in colours that perfectly match the warmth of their homes, adds the project. Following a course like this, the Mama Afrikas return to their centres and share their new knowledge with members of their community at their centres.

According to Clover Mama Afrika, currently there are 18 centres run by Mama Afrikas that give mosaic courses and teach others the skills that they have gained through these courses.

These courses lead to job creation in rural communities and the economic impact of the Mama Afrikas' ventures is significant.

Job creation, once a distant dream, has become a tangible outcome of the project. Today, more than 400 individuals receive their livelihoods through their businesses.

This employment not only sustains families but also fuels our local economy, concludes the project.
