The rebrand comes as part of PRISA's broader efforts to reposition itself as the leading voice and professional body for the public relations and communications industry in Southern Africa, says PRISA.

Over the past year, PRISA says that it has undertaken several internal initiatives, including the appointment of a new board, the formation of dedicated committees and the launch of key industry-driven projects.

The new brand identity embodies PRISA's role as storytellers who provide depth and extra meaning to the narratives shaping society, says the institute.

"As communications professionals, our job is to go beyond the surface and bring valuable perspectives that add richness and context to every story," says Bradly Howland, CEO of Alkemi Collective and PRISA President-Elect.

"Our new logo, with its use of brackets, symbolises the critical role PRISA plays in providing this extra dimension of insight and understanding to the conversations in our industry. This rebrand is an outward reflection of the internal changes we have made to restore PRISA's credibility, enhance member value and champion the growth of our profession, as well as of our individual members," Howland adds.

As part of a long-term plan to rebuild trust, PRISA says that it has introduced various committees to drive strategic focus in key areas such as education and research, ethics, member engagement and industry visibility, ensuring that the organisation remains relevant and impactful.

"Our rebrand is a testament to the positive changes we have made and the strategic measures we have put in place to deliver greater value to our members and partners. With this new identity, we are sending a clear message that PRISA is committed to being the trusted custodian of the PR and communications industry in Southern Africa," says Landiwe Manana, General Manager of PRISA.

The rebranding and strategic repositioning are expected to drive higher engagement among current members and attract new members from across the industry. This initiative is part of a comprehensive plan to revitalise PRISA's offerings, expand its influence and provide increased support for professionals navigating the evolving landscape of communications, says the institute.

"As we move forward, we are confident that PRISA will become the go-to platform for thought leadership, professional development and ethical standards that elevate the entire profession — truly represents the interests and aspirations of its members," says Howland.

PRISA concludes by inviting all members, industry professionals and stakeholders to embrace this new chapter and work collaboratively in building a thriving communications industry that reflects the diverse and dynamic voices of Southern Africa.
