TCF made the contribution through the Quarphix Foundation which deals directly with both the school and the girls who are the foundation’s beneficiaries. The Foundation which is currently running a programme called the Radical Dreamers programme, targets the youth that is facing challenges ranging from financial, psychological to social issues, that threaten their respective futures,.

“Opportunity is the most expensive resource in South Africa and as a medium size organisation, we felt that we needed to play our part in making the much needed difference to education of children from disadvantaged backgrounds in particular, based on the historical context,” said Bonnke Shipalana, CEO of The Communications Firm.

Palesa Mjali, of Quarphix Foundation said: “The Quarphix Foundation is appreciative of the donation from The Communications Firm, as it will go a long way to aid in the continued development of our young dreamers enrolled in the Radical Dreamers programme.”

The principal at Letsibogo Girls High, Mrs Mathopo said that the school was extremely grateful for this donation. “We believe the money received today will uplift the learners and take to the school to even greater heights. This support, however, cannot be simply measured in monetary terms as the support shown here today is about building the knowledge of our children.”

“The Department of Education has the largest budget amongst all government departments in South Africa and Public-Private Partnerships are required to fast track changes in education. TCF is committed to supporting worthy courses to ensure their sustainability,” concluded Shipalana.

Letsibogo Girls High School is known for having a better Matric pass rate than most of the schools in the area.
