The partnership includes the re-branding its fleet with images of the Big Five.

Although not all of the Big Five animals are endangered, through the conservation efforts of the EWT, a healthy ecosystem is maintained that has a positive impact on all five of these renowned species. Special EWT projects include anti-poaching initiatives that benefit both rhino and elephant and a variety of projects that support Leopard and Lion conservation.

“As a responsible company we care about South Africa’s natural heritage and are committed to the sustainability of our communities. The conservation of our environment, wildlife and natural resources plays a critical role in improving human livelihoods. We are therefore committed to making a difference through supporting conservation efforts to protect our wildlife,” says SBV South Africa MD Mark Barrett.

SBV’s fleet revamp also includes replacing part of its cash-carrying armoured vehicles over a period of time, having introduced 160 new generation cash carrier vehicles over the past 12 months, with a further 300 vehicles scheduled to be introduced over the next three years. The application of the Big Five is also a conscious alignment with the company’s core business of managing cash. The South African banknotes also carry the images of these animals and the alignment of the two reflects the company’s continued commitment to the cash sector in South Africa.

“SBV’s new fleet has been designed and built for each of our customer segments and forms part of a three year strategy to transform our business and build on our capabilities in preparation for significant growth and diversification.” Says Mark Barrett. “It’s an exciting period for SBV as our business undergoes significant change, our new branding campaign is representative of change, diversity and the customisation of our suite of product and service offerings to meet the needs of our partners.”

Our vehicles have been designed to make them more eco-friendly and fuel efficient, while also being easier to handle on the road. All of SBV’s vehicles have been fitted with state-of-the-art security features.”

With its roots based in South Africa, SBV continues to expand across Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Big Five motif speaks to diversity and the significant partnerships that can be formed by people, communities, wildlife and businesses.
